Next 5 food photos : Sheet Pan Sweet Potato Hash (more info further down)
I hate to break my standing rule of no “egghead” nutrition science in these “made for browsing”, HGTV style articles…
But don’t be afraid of quality eggs, specifically pasture raised eggs.
I eat 25+ eggs a week and my cholesterol scores are perfect!!!
So crack those eggs!! It’s “Just an Illusion” that they’re unhealthy….
And take a “cyber-tour” of this amazing Bay Area Cali crib. I mean, since living there is “Just an Illusion” for most of us, might as well dream big ….. right 🙂

The Healthy Chef’s “healthy morsel”: Love to see recipes that still use Olive Oil!!! Stay away from Crisco, Wesson and my arch enemy Toxic-Poison Canola Oil!!! I might have to throw some Whole Foods Chorizo spiced Turkey Sausage up in there!!!
(click any of 4 food photos above or one below for recipe)
[below] Almond Banana Pancakes
The Healthy Chef’s “healthy morsel”: I eat so little sugar throughout the year, a little syrup ain’t gonna kill me. But I ALWAYS make it “Real Maple Syrup”, most of the better ones are closer to the stuff that comes out out the tree, close to its natural state, without a lot of commercial processing.

The Healthy Chef’s “healthy morsel”: I always replace milk in these types of recipes with Organic Coconut Milk, but that’s just me…..

The Healthy Chef’s “healthy morsel”: I eat 4 eggs a day almost every day and my cholesterol scores are perfect!!!!

The Healthy Chef’s “healthy morsel”: I’m such a “Style Points” kinda dude when cooking breakfast for a cutie who spent the night. (Not only do you gotta “perform” on Saturday night in the bed, but you gotta “perform” on Sunday Morning with Breakfast in Bed !!!!) 🙂

The Healthy Chef’s “healthy morsel”: I will have to try this with Coconut milk replacing the Buttermilk, we’ll see how it turns out. Also, I make sure all my dairy is grass fed, Whole Foods always has a few brands, you may have to ask them for help, the Grass Fed dairy is often from Europe and often not marked “Grass Fed”.

The Healthy Chef’s “healthy morsel”: With Organic Ingredients, a five-star healthy recipe as it is (though I might have to throw some Whole Foods Turkey Sausage up in there if I want it a little more “hearty”.

[below] …I always add this photo to my Breakfast articles (always trying to “set my scene” 🙂 ) . If you love the aroma of morning coffee, you know where I’m coming from!!
[below] Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast
The Healthy Chef’s “healthy morsel”: It seems like Sourdough Bread is one of the “go to” healthy breads. I always see other “health nuts” going to Sourdough Bread in their recipes.

[below] Green Shakshuka
The Healthy Chef’s “healthy morsel”: Not sure what it is, but greens and eggs for breakfast always give me a lot of energy throughout the day, especially when the greens are fresh picked from the herb garden.

[below] Strawberry Mascarpone Cinnamon Raisin Breakfast Toast
The Healthy Chef’s “healthy morsel”: No disrespect to the creator of this recipe, but I’d have to put a fried egg on top of that thing (I can put a fried egg over just about anything 🙂 ). Also I’ll replace the white sugar in the recipe with Healthy Coconut Palm Sugar.

[below] Cheesy Avocado Toast
The Healthy Chef’s “healthy morsel”: I totally avoid commercial cheese and ALWAYS go with grass fed (Whole Foods always has a few brands). Recipe says salt, but use Pink Himalayan Salt, a very nutrition and mineral balanced salt! Once again, I’d have to get a fried egg on that thing 🙂

about the crib….
Envisioned as a singular continuous, flowing expression, this family estate designed by Jim Olson links architecture, interior design, art and landscape into an integrated whole.
Unified around the central “home base” living area, views radiate from this core in four directions across several reflecting pools to vistas into gardens and the nearby Santa Cruz Mountains.
Creating spaces between the home’s various structures helps engage the landscape, resulting in a quietly elegant family complex where life extends out of doors into the temperate California Bay Area climate.
Along the entry to the property, rows of old-growth olive trees, a small vineyard and a succulent garden suggest a human touch upon the landscape.
Trellises weave over these spaces, providing shade from the California sun and further blending the home into the landscape.
Designed to produce as much energy as it uses, the home incorporates several high-performance systems, including solar panels covering over half of the roof area, and geothermal and hydronic heating and cooling systems.
The result is a home integrated with nature, not only philosophically and visually, but from a practical perspective as well. Looking for a home in California?
