Your photography is just gorgeous and I loved the video on how to make the dish. Your friend did a great job. This meal is very similar to a Liberian dish called Chicken Gravy. I grew up in West Africa (my parents are missionaries), and then went back to do mission work myself. Eventually my husband and I hope to be missionaries in Kenya. But for now we live in the US and I stay home with our baby and study nutrition, create recipes, and blog. As a missionary kid I got to experience the world first hand and loved my life of travel. I found and married somone just like me who also grew up overseas and we can't wait to get back to an adventurous life overseas! You are blessed to be able to travel, and to understand nutirtion the way you do. I am 2 years into my quest to understand true health and nutirtion, and loving every step of the way. Your blog is another great resource for me. Thanks!

If you send me your Liberian Chicken Dish recipe I’d love to post it. Keep in mind the section of the blog if called “The Wanderlust Food Diaries”, in that many of the locations, The Serengeti, is one of “my bucket” list locations, a place I would love to go, but haven’t been. That’s what make the articles like this so fun, in that I create it how I see a destination in my mind. Thanks for the comments about the photograph, I try to put a little “passion” into my work, it it always a thrill when people acknowledge it.

Oh! Well I obviously thought you were actually in the Serengeti. Where were you then? The African lady acted like she was still in Africa while filming.
Also, are you a photographer? I also assumed the photos were yours. I am a photographer and I mainly sell stock photography via iStockphoto. The food photography thing has been very challenging, though, especially in our small apartment with low natural lighting.
My blog is young, but I do intend to post a lot of African recipes. So far I only have one up. It is Liberian Ground Pea Soup. You are welcome to try it and post about it if you like! http://sweetbasilnspice.blogspot.com/2012/09/liberian-groundpea-soup-and-rice.html (Note, the recipe has not been "healthified" for the sake of authenticity). I don't have the chicken gravy recipe written down, but I could send you other Liberian recipes (and photos), if you are interested.
Thanks for your response and your interest in my recipe!

Some of my “Wanderlust” destinations I have been to, like the British virgin islands article with Curry chicken http://www.gaiahealthblog.com/scrub-island/ , others are “wish list” locations. You must have missed how I said the Serengeti was a “Bucket List” location in the article:) Anyway, Love you blog!!!! Great colors and very easy to read. And I like the concept!!!!! I added it to my right sidebar with all my other favorite bloggers at the bottom right. I get video’s and recipes from other bloggers I collaborate with, that is why I am always asking for recipes. My goal is the have a cooking show sort of a “Travel Channel meets the Food Channel meets the Health Channel” where I am going all over cooking healthy exotic dishes from all over, exploring new herbs, spices and all the rest. Can’t do videos yet because it want to become a whole grand production in my outdoor Caribbean Kitchen and all the trimmings, music, helicopter shots and so forth. I don’t get into photography, perhaps I just have the art of appreciating everyone else’s photography. 70% of the time, a photo will inspire the article as opposed to the other way around. As with the contraceptive article, just a way to keep someone entertained why you try to slip in a healthy tidbit. I normally buy from Fotolia.com, and save tons of photos on my Pinterest page. But I really get into my blog photography like an artist, so that’s for recognizing that.
